Camp Judson 2010

Posted by Kerry Regner on August 18, 2010 at 2:34 PM

This year we had two campers Sierra and Katie Bable go as campers and Bet Regner as part of the staff at Camp Judson in Erie, PA. Here is a little ditty about their experience at camp in serving God and others.

Sierra Bable

Oh my Gosh, I love camp so much. I'm like soooooo going back. The food was really bad but camp was cool. We bathed in the lake and played in the mud. "Get down and get dirtier". Ha! Ha! We played lots of games and we went swimming and the best? We got ice cream! So, camp was really sweet. It brought me joy!

Katie Bable

At camp this summer I think God really spoke to me because I learned so much more about Him. I have this one quote that sticks in my head and that is "that iron sharpens iron". It basically means you should be around Christians if you are a Christian, because they will encourage you to be a better Christian. I'd recommend to all the people who really want to have some one on one time with God to go to Camp Judson. I love it there.

Brandi Bable

Every year I look forward to camp. To me, camp is that one week of the year when I can be myself. When I can actually express my thoughts about God and Christianity freely. Camp is such a pretty place, too. It's nice to even just observe as an outsider. It is by far my favorite place in the world.

Bet Regner

This summer at Camp was successful.  This was my second year at Camp.  My first year I was a lifeguard.  This year I was a lifeguard and a water safety instructor.  This meant that I could teach the pool electives.  Like normal, many staffers were excited for the summer to begin but were also curious.  The staff consisted of a new Managing Director and also many new staffers.  One thing that was very interesting to see was that at least six of the staffers had never been to Camp Judson before.  They were either recommended to apply or heard about it and decided to apply.  It was great to see their love for Camp without ever having been there.  You could tell that this love existed because of each person's relationship with God.  What is really nice about being a staffer is how much you get to grow individually.  Our jobs do revolve around the campers but none of the staff could survive the summer without having a relationship with Jesus.  Camp is set up so that the staff can guide and teach the campers but the campers also guide and teach the staff.  The number of campers grew from last year and we can thank God for that blessing.
