Letter from the Pastor,​ 

 

 

Hello and welcome to Cannelton Baptist. I am glad you have found your way to our website, and I assume you are looking before visiting our church. I would like to tell you a little about this church and myself. Cannelton Baptist has been here on Ridge Road since 1893 and has seen many come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Cannelton Baptist was a plant church by Achor Valley Baptist Church. For the past 40 years the church was Pastored by Dale Regner who has now passed the torch to me.

 

My name is Jesse Bonney and I am privileged to be married to my wonderful wife Caitlin. Together we have three children. I was called to pastor this church and began in April 2025. Since then, my passion to see the kingdom of God grow through Cannelton has only grown. This is my first Pastorate; I am green as they say. But I do have a set of core convictions that guide my daily effort to serve this church.

 

I am committed to the Word; I believe it to be inerrant, infallible and the only source of truth for saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I hold the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith to be a good summary of important doctrines found in scripture. That is, I believe it to be an aid in controversy, a confirmation in faith and a means of edification.
